EmuDevs FAQ

Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.

I have a source without Eluna, will you help implement Eluna?

Unfortunately no. We (the Eluna devs) do not support third party sources outside of the sources provided by us and/or the official sources that come with Eluna included. Thus, implementing Eluna into any other third party source is completely at your own accord. It is not as simple as copy pasting unfortunately and a lot of work goes into such an implementation, and it is not something we can/want to spend our time on.

Where can I find Eluna Documentation?

Eluna API that contains method information, etc. can be found at Eluna API Documentation. More information can be found at Eluna/docs on github. For example, contributing, implementing new methods, etc can be found on Eluna/docs.

Where can I find the links to all the Eluna repos?

You can find all of Eluna's supported emulators by viewing Eluna's README, here.

How come some methods are commented out?

If you find that methods are commented out, that's because they are broken, still being worked on, cause in-game issues, etc. You can still remove the comments and use the method(s), but you could run into some issues so uncomment at your own risk. You can always make a support thread in Eluna Support if you need help.

My script won't work, why?

First off, make sure:
  • If you're using a repack with Eluna, make sure your Lua scripts are updated to Eluna's standards. If not, compile your own Eluna source.
  • If your worldserver keeps crashing when trying to load a Lua script, make sure Eluna is up-to-date. Else, the scripts will keep crashing the server until Eluna is updated. This is also a cause of using repacks w/Eluna as well. Refer to the information given above.
  • If your Lua script is loaded and you're getting a method error "nil" or other similar errors, this may be an indication that the method does not exist or is commented out. Go to Eluna's API for more information about methods.

If your script doesn't work it is probably because you're getting errors on server load. Check your Eluna.log for errors, if you see errors you can try to track down the code that is causing them. If you cannot fix it post a new thread in Eluna Support and we will help. Make sure you give as much information as possible. Take a look at give more information.
