View Full Version : [SOLVED] {SQL} Remote Connection

Hello EmuDevs, I am in need of some help with getting my Trinity 3.3.5a server online.
My friend and I are working together on this, I have the files for the server but he needs to be able to connect to the database through MySQL (and if possible be able to host the server).
I was just wondering if it is possible to change the IP of the database so we can both connect to it.

I tried using this line (but with my credentials) in the MySQL command line client

UPDATE mysql.user SET host = '' WHERE user = 'facade'
but when using the IP I set I get this error

SQL Error (1045) in statement #0: Access denied for user '***'@'****-PC.lan' (using password: YES)

Thank you
Kind Regards

192.168.x.x are internal IPs, is nothing.. using localhost should still bind mysql to your external IP. Just
be sure port 3306 is open and your "Remote users" are added to the DBs with their user@hostname or @% for wildcard.

You can use to connect but your friend would need to connect to your external IP
